Seamus Hanafin has been elected Cathaoirleach of the Templemore-Thurles Municipal District of Tipperary County Council.
The Fianna Fail Councillor was proposed and seconded respectively by party colleagues Sean Ryan and John Hogan.
Councillor Hanafin previously served as Cathaoirleach of the County Council after being elected to that position in 2015.
The Thurles native was the only nomination.
He says it’s a huge honour and responsibility.
