Having just finished her General Election campaign Cashel based Mary Newman Julian will be taking to the road again.
She has been nominated to contest the Seanad election by the Veterinary Council of Ireland on the Cultural and Educational Panel.
The Fine Gael representative got nearly 5,000 first preference votes in the General Election.
She now faces a trek around the country to canvass support for her bid for the upper house.
