Tipp Pipeline protestors -No confidence in Irish Water Report

Campaigners against a planned water pipeline from Tipperary to Dublin say they’re not confident a new report from Irish water will address their concerns.

The proposal is to build a 1-point-2 billion Euro pipe to bring 300 million litres of water every day from the Shannon to Dublin to avoid supply issues in the capital.

Irish Water says it’ll publish a report answering issues raised during a public consultation process in the next couple of weeks.

But the ‘Fight The Pipe’ campaign says the Kennedy Report on water leaks in Dublin shows the whole idea is based on flawed information.

And spokesman Liam Minehan – whose farm in Puckane is on the planned route – says he’s afraid these questions won’t addressed.
