PE will be a Leaving Cert subject in 6 Tipp schools

There are warnings that the new PE curriculum won’t work if there isn’t a change in the way teachers are educated.

80 schools around the country will begin the course this September, in a bid to tackle rising obesity rates.

In Tipperary students from the Loreto in Clonmel, Rockwell college, Borrisokane Community college, the Presentation secondary schools in Thurles and Ballingarry and the Abbey in Tipperary, will have the opportunity to study the subject.
