No sign of Cashel beds opening up

It's claimed that the 12 step down beds the HSE plans to open in Cashel to ease overcrowding at South Tipp may not materialise for 15 months.

There's chronic overcrowding at the Clonmel health facility again today with over 20 patients stuck on trolleys and chairs awaiting a bed.

One patient who is suffering from pneumonia has been stuck in a corridor for 3 consecutive days now.

Independent Tipperary TD Mattie McGrath has branded the situation as archaic and doesn't believe Our Lady's is going to provide the answer anytime soon.
