UK Parliament must approve start of Brexit process

Minister for Foreign Affairs here Charlie Flanagan – says he note's the ruling and welcomes confirmation that Theresa May will begin the BREXIT process by the end of March at the latest. 

Supreme Court justices ruled that there must be a vote on Article 50 before it's triggered.

There was some better news for Theresa May this morning however – the Supreme Court also ruled she doesn't have to consult Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales on her plans.

Meanwhile the Taoiseach has defended the government's efforts in attracting business to Ireland following Brexit.

The government, along with The Financial Times newspaper is hosting a European Financial Forum in Dublin today.

Speaking to the attendees which includes representatives from the IDA, and the banking and finance industries, Enda Kenny said the government is committed to promoting Ireland abroad as a hub for financial services.
