Tipp hit by bus strike

An all out strike by Bus Eireann drivers got underway this morning as they are refusing to work under the threat of pay cuts which bosses claim they have no option but to enforce.

Rail services have been hit also as train drivers won’t pass the pickets at many of the depots nationwide.

Both the Transport Minister and Bus Éireann say they're extremely disappointed about the action.

SIPTU organiser Michael Kavanagh has worked in Bus Eireann for 44 years and says he was left with no choice but to walk off the job

Meanwhile there are limited services on intercity trains that serve Tipperary, particularly through Thurles while the Limerick to Ballybrophy via Nenagh service is cancelled and there are no services through Limerick Junction

A list of cancelled services is on IrishRail-dot-ie.
