Tipp County Councillor targets South Offaly Dail seat

Independent representative Joe Hannigan has put his name forward in the neighbouring county, which includes over 9,000 Tipperary votes from the Lower Ormond area.

Following changes to the boundaries a section of North Tipperary has been moved into South Offaly, which is a three-seater area.

Coolbawn native Joe Hannigan says while the votes in the North Tipp part of the new constituency will mean a lot they can only carry him part of the way to getting elected.

He also has connections in Offaly as his grandmother was from Ferbane which he hopes will help him get elected.
