Jail for Lithuanian who failed to comply with court order.

A Lithuanian national who was ordered to leave the country has been jailed for failing to do so by Tipperary Gardaí.

Convicted murderer Yvtautas Kristutis was given 72 hours to leave Ireland at Cashel District Court and was ordered to submit documentation proving he had done so.

Judge Terrance Finn sentenced him to 8 months in jail for stealing items from a car in Cahir but suspended the term on the condition that he would return to his native country within 3 days.

However, he failed to do so and was arrested in Cahir last night and brought to Limerick prison to begin his sentence.
