Irish citizen confirmed injured in Westminster attack

British Prime Minister Theresa May took Irish authorities by surprise this morning when she announced that an Irish person was among those injured in the attack.

In a statement this afternoon, Foreign Affairs Minister Charlie Flanagan says consular assistance has been offered through the embassy in London.

In the Dáil the Tánaiste and Justice Minister Frances Fitzgerald condemned what she said was a cowardly act in London yesterday and confirmed that an Irish person had been caught up in the attack.
