Gareth Brooks bound for Semple ?

The Head of the County Board has confirmed to Tipp Fm that at least one of Garth Brooks Croke Park concerts is being moved to Thurles this summer.

The solution was put forward after the string of Dublin gigs ran to difficulty with local residents angry over the level of concerts set to be held there this summer.

The head of the County Board Sean Nugent says following intense negotiations, one and possibily two of the Brooks concerts will be transfered to the Premier County and there's the possibility that Tipperary great Brendan Cummins could MC for the night – but he has yet to be approached about this.

Exact details of how it will work stil has to be thrashed out given Semple Stadium's capacity is 50 thousand compared to 80 thousand at Croke Park, however it's though the tickets may be divided on a geographical basis.

Board Chairman Sean Nugent says Semple will be well able to cater for an event like this and for more on this April 1st story tune into Tipp Today from 9
