First Data C.A.O Impressed with Nenagh Reception

The company is to establish a research and development facility at the Stereame Business Park which will be up and running next year with the creation of 300 jobs.

Tom Higgins paid a flying visit to North Tipp last evening where he spoke with members of Nenagh Chamber of Commerce.

Speaking to Tipp FM he said he was impressed with the reception he received.

Among those to meet with Tom Higgins last evening was President of Nenagh Chamber Denis Finnerty.

He came away from the meeting in a very positive frame of mind and is confident the arrival of First Data will be a major boost for the local area.

C.A.O Tom Higgins singled Ireland out as a good place to do business at the moment in the world economy.

He echoed the view that Nenagh will benefit greatly from First Data's arrival there.

Dermot Gleeson – who is on the board of Invest Tipperary – says the arrival of First Data to Nenagh will be a turning point for Tipperary.

The Kiloscully native was part of the effort to persuade the company to locate in Nenagh – he says it could be the anchor to attract other companies to areas like Roscrea, Templemore and Thurles.
