Dail hears of Littleton workers’ fears over Bord na Mona review

The company's carrying out a review of its operations at the briquette factory in Mid-tipp as well as at another in Co Offaly.

There's concern that one or both could be shut down.

In the Dail this afternoon, Deputy Michael Lowry called on the Tanaiste Frances Fitzgerald to clarify the government's stance on the issue.

Minister Fitzgerald pointed out that the government has no operational control over a commercial semi-state company like Bord na Mona.

But she also says the review won't be finished until this summer at the earliest and no decisions will be made before then.
