Banking Inquiry member denies final report will be watered down

Developers Johnny Ronan, who’s from Carrick on Suir, and Michael O'Flynn had threatened legal action that could have collapsed the inquiry if changes were not made. Inquiry members yesterday agreed to make those changes. However Fine Gael TD Kieran O'Donnell says this doesn't mean it is watered down, and that the inquiry has been a worthwhile exercise. “Public hearings have taken place – I think they very much shed a light on the particular players that were involved and people could see them first hand” he said. “And now we're moving towards the publication of the report”. “There'll be two aspects: it will shed clarification on areas that people were uncertain on in terms of events, and I think it will shed light on new information” he added.
