New Nenagh school officially opens

Almost two decades after it was first mooted a major redevelopment of a North Tipperary secondary school has been officially opened today.

Nenagh Vocational School founded in 1970 has undergone a complete facelift and modernisation programme including a refurbishment of the existing premises and a new building extension.

The revamp will also allow for the possible introduction of e-learning while a new state of the art gym is available for use by the community after school hours.

Built at cost of €4.5 million – the project finally got the green light in 2011 much to the relief of school principal Michael McNulty
