New concerns over C&C Jobs

SIPTU- the union representing staff at the drinks company in Clonmel and Borrisoleigh are calling for talks with management on feared cuts.

According to union organiser Terry Bryan management at C&C Gleeson recently announced plans to restructure a number of sectors including sales, depot administration, and depot operations

The SIPTU rep says workers are concerned over what they perceive is the lack of clarity and information on the issue and fear the restructuring could lead to over 2 dozen job losses.

C&C has two manufacturing sites in Tipperary at Borrisoleigh which produces Tipperary Water while Bulmers is produced in Clonmel.

Mr Bryan said the company recognised and negotiated collectively with the union at both plants and its now seeking a meeting to begin a process of engagement relating to a proposed restructuring.
