Mortgage crisis deepens.

New figures from the Central Bank reveal the mortgage arrears crisis is worsening with 1 in 3 holders now over 2 years behind on repayments.

The statistics show that the number of those in arrears of more than 90 days has almost quadrupled since 2009 – amounting to 18.6 billion euro at end-June 2013.

The Central Banks quarterly survey also found that by international standards, the rate of acceleration of mortgage arrears in Ireland has been more dramatic than any other country within the Eurozone.
