Moran to be co-opted onto council this morning

Independent Councillor Eddie Moran will replace the late Willie Kennedy on the local authority after the 64 year old died in a road accident last month.

This morning's meeting of Tipperary County Council will address a range of matters…but one of the first items on the agenda will be the co-option of Eddie Moran onto the local authority.

The experienced councillor will replace Willie Kennedy who passed away last month after a road crash.

Eddie Moran was named as Councillor Kennedy's nominee following his election to the council in 2014 and so will automatically replace him from today.

There are also a number of issues set to be debated in the Council chamber in Clonmel this morning….with social housing one of the main topics.

Mental health services, broadband and the removal of a section of Tipperary into the Offaly constituency for the General Election are also up for discussion.

The 40 elected members will meet at the council offices in Clonmel from 11am this morning.
