Minister’s role in having North Tipp bus service reinstated questioned.

A North Tipperary County Councillor has questioned Minister of State Alan Kelly's role in securing the return of a morning bus service linking Nenagh and Roscrea to Dublin.

While welcoming the re-reinstatement of the 7.30am Limerick – Dublin service, Sinn Fein's Seamie Morris points out that Alan Kelly had previously said he could not intervene when the service was originally withdrawn last year.

At the time Nenagh Town Council wrote to Alan Kelly – the Minister for Public and Commuter Transport. In reply he pointed out that the Department of Transport had no influence on decisions made by Bus Eireann in relation to commercial routes.

One thing Councillor Morris and Minister Kelly are in agreement on is the need for people to utilise the service to ensure its viability.
