A Tipperary TD has come in for strong criticism for his comments on the on the abortion debate.
Independent Deputy Mattie McGrath says it isn’t over until the fat lady sings.
Senators and TDs are likely to recommend new laws allowing abortions in any circumstances up to 12 weeks of the pregnancy.
Mattie McGrath is against repealing the eighth, and said the debate isn’t over.
Deputy McGrath has since called Committee Chairperson Catherine Noone’s office to apologise for his remarks
The Senator says she won’t dignify the comments with a public response.
