The victim was walking on King Street between 8.30 and 9.30 last night when he was approached by the occupants of a light blue 06 D registration Ford Focus who bundled him into the car
He was subsequently assaulted but did not need to be hospitalised.
Superintendent Willie Leahy is heading up the investigation.
