Major search operation carried out near Cahir for missing man.

 


A man missing from Cork who was thought to be in County Tipperary has been found safe and well.

A major search operation was carried out near Cahir yesterday for the man who had been reported missing from his home in Macroom.

His camper van is understood to have been seen at Clonmore near Cahir yesterday morning while a man was spotted walking a dog on the north bound lane of the M8 at around 11am.

Members of the South Eastern Mountain Rescue Association, the Search & Rescue helicopter from Waterford and local Gardai were involved in the search which went on through the day.

The man was eventually located in Waterford this morning and has been returned to his family.
