Major fall off in new car sales in Tipperary.

New car sales in Tipperary last month fell by almost twice the national figure.

Figures released by the CSO today show the number of new cars registered in the county last month was down 25 per cent on March.

This is a much greater drop-off in sales compared with the national figure which recorded a 13.6 per cent fall.

200 new cars were licensed in County Tipperary in April compared with 267 in March.

The fall in TN registrations was much more significant than TS at 20 per cent in the north of the County compared to 10 per cent in the south.

Year on year there has been virtually no change in the number of new cars sold in County Tipperary with 202 registered in April 2012 – just two more than for the same month this year.
