Macron & Le Pen in French Presidential run-off

An independent candidate will face the leader of the far-right National Front to become the next president of France.

They’ve emerged victorious in the first round of the poll, which saw voters reject the traditional parties.

The French people will now choose between Marine Le Pen or the pro-European centrist Emmanuel Macron in the second round on May 7th.

The country’s presidential election race has been narrowed to what could be a showdown over its EU membership.

Macron leads the race, after only setting up his party last year, and the 39-year-old insists he can win.
