M7 remains closed this morning following fatal crash

The M7 Dublin/Limerick Rd remains closed southbound at J27 Birdhill until later this morning following a fatal collision.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses, after a man in his 70s died in the three car pile-up.

It happened between Limerick and Nenagh, near the Birdhill junction at around 2 pm.

2 other people were injured and were brought by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick.

Traffic is being diverted off the motorway at J26 Nenagh West.
