Lowry says abortion recommendations go too far

A Tipperary TD says he fears the recommendations on abortion are much too liberal.

Independant Michael Lowry says he feels the proposals to allow unrestricted abortion up to 12 weeks, may be a step too far for the majority of the electorate.

The 8th Amendment will be under scrutiny in the Dáil again today.

TDs will debate whether we should repeal the part of the constitution protecting the right to life of the unborn.

Speaking on Tipp FM, Michael Lowry said that regardless of what is discussed in the Dail, in the end it will be decided by the electorate.
