Local welcome for Barack Obama’s re-election.


Barack Obama has told the people of America the best is yet to come after securing a second term in the White House.

The President's been addressing jubilant supporters in his home city of Chicago having won enough votes in the swing states to defeat Mitt Romney.

He's promised to sit down with his Republican rival to discuss how they can work together.

There have been scenes of wild celebration across the US – with people taking to the streets in Washington and New York.

President Obama's 8th cousin Henry Healy from Moneygall on the Tipperary- Offaly border has welcomed the election result.

 

He is calling on the Government to invite the President back to Ireland for another visit.
