There are 120 former Bord na Mona workers who lost their jobs from the plant in Littleton in 2018.
Councillor Sean Ryan is calling for the ‘Just Transition Fund’ introduced by the Minister, to be extended to this group of people, rather than just benefiting those in the Midlands.
It could be used to enhance the area, retrain staff and also retrofit homes.
