Last appearance in Thomond for O’Connell

It's likely that Thomond Park has seen the last of Paul O'Connell in the red of Munster.

The Ireland captain contributed to a 21-18 victory over Ospreys to help his province into the Pro 12 final against Glasgow Warriors in Belfast.

After the game, he all but confirmed that today was the final time he will play at Thomond.

Ospreys had a late Josh Matavesi try ruled out due to a knock on.

Munster tries in the match came from Simon Zebo, Denis Hurley and Tipperary’s Paddy Butler.

Rhys Webb and Jeff Hassler got the tries for Ospreys.

However, Munster and Ireland have concerns over Conor Murray who was replaced in the first half after suffering a knee injury.
