Justice Minister says Dublin gangland feud will be tackled

The Tánaiste says she “abhors” yesterday’s shooting in inner city Dublin – the twelfth death as a result of a gangland feud.

But Frances Fitzgerald says there is no question of the state standing “idly by” while the feud continues.

She’s been challenged in the Dail this afternoon about the effects of cuts to the Garda budget and the closure of stations in the north inner city.

But she says Gardai had been able to destroy the gangland culture in Limerick, and is confident they could do so again.
