Junior doctors strike in Tipperary.

Junior Doctors have walked off the job this morning including at Tipperary's main hospitals in a row over their working hours.

Nenagh and South Tipp General Hospital are among the 51 hospitals nationwide to be affected by today's action by Junior Doctors.

HSE South, which covers South Tipp General Hospital and HSE Mid-West, which includes Nenagh and University Hospital Limerick say that emergency departments and other essential services will remain throughout the day but with limited staff numbers.

Patients whose operation, clinic appointment or service is affected by the strike have been contacted by phone, if patients have not been contacted, they should present to the hospital as normal for their appointment.

The strike is due to last until midnight.
