Irish Water officials to face a further drilling today.

Management at Irish Water are facing a second day of questioning by politicians today.

Some of the new agency's senior staff will appear before the Public Accounts Committee.

It comes a day after it revealed projections that Irish Water will spend nearly 86 million euro on consultants by the middle of next year, at the Environment Committee.

The company's CEO John Tierney from Terryglass has defended the spending on outside consultants, saying it was needed to make sure Irish Water was capable of delivering a national water system.

Nenagh Sinn Fein Councillor Seamie Morris was one of five North Tipperary Councillors that walked out of the recent budget meeting in protest at the takeover of services by Irish Water.

He says that recent revelations about the cost of setting up the company are a disgrace.
