Tipperary has the highest charges in the country for connecting new houses to the water system.
It’s emerged that the development levy charged by Irish Water is doubling the costs for new builds in the Premier.
Fianna Fail Councillor John Hogan says this is an unacceptable obstacle being put in the way of future development in the county.
Councillor Hogan’s calling on Irish Water to bring the charges in Tipperary more into line with the rest of the country.
