It comes after the deaths of two newborns at the hospital in the space of five days.
Last Wednesday, it is understood a baby died following an emergency Caesarean section.
A second death happened Sunday morning.
Last night, The RCSI Hospitals Group confirmed that two investigations have commenced directly in regard to Cavan General Hospital.
