Injury-blunted Ireland lose in Paris

Joe Schmidt's side went down 10-9 to France, despite leading 9-3 at the break courtesy of three Johnathon Sexton penalties.

The home team claimed the spoils at the Stade de France principally as a result of Maxime Medard's try 10 minutes from the end of the game.

Ireland's woes were compounded by the injuries suffered by four key players – Sean O'Brien, Dave Kearney, Mike McCarthy and Johnny Sexton.

Cahir man Tommy O'Donnell came on for O'Brien to win his 11th Irish cap.
