Injured woman rescued from mountain

A woman was rescued from the Galtee Mountains yesterday after suffering a leg injury.

She was out with a walking group when she sustained the injury.

The South Eastern Mountain Rescue Association were holding a training session in the Galtees at the time and were at the scene of the incident within five minutes.

The injured party was stretchered off the mountain to the road at the Glen of Aherlow side from where she was transported by ambulance to South Tipperary General Hospital in Clonmel.
