Icy road conditions in Tipperary

Tipperary motorists are being urged to be extra cautious on the roads this morning following freezing temperatures overnight.

While main routes have been gritted, back roads and the M8 motorway in particular are said to be dangerous today.

Gardaí say the back roads around Nenagh are slippy in places, while the M8 is particularly icy between Mitchelstown and Cashel.

The county boundary around Junction 10, the turnoff for Kilbehenny is extremely hazardous.

Met Eireann says that the weather should improve today, but stormy conditions are expected to return later this afternoon.
