Huge numbers on trolleys in Tipp

Hospital overcrowding is a huge issue right across the region this lunchtime.

South Tipp General in Clonmel has 31 patients without a bed today.

Meanwhile at University Hospital Limerick – which serves North Tipperary – there are 52 patients being cared for on trolleys around the Emergency Department or in overflow areas of wards.

According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation other hospitals in the area are also under severe pressure this lunchtime.

University Hospital Waterford has 35 patients waiting for a bed while there are 29 at St Luke’s in Kilkenny.
