HSE MidWest to contact patients over doctors strike

The HSE has started to contact North Tipperary patients set to be affected by the impending Junior Doctor's strike.

Members of the IMO are set to down tools tomorrow in a row  over long working hours for non consultant doctors.

The HSE Mid West says all appointments have been reviewed, theatre by theatre, clinic by clinic, today for all hospitals in the UL group ie University Hospital Limerick, University Maternity Hospital, Nenagh Hospital, Croom Hospital and St John's Hospital and Ennis General

In a statement to TIpp FM a spokesperson stated that that any patient whose operation, clinic appointment or service is affected is being contacted directly by telephone if they affected by the strike.

If patients are not contacted, they should present to the hospital as normal for their appointment.

Any patient appointment that has to be cancelled will be rescheduled and emergency care will continued to be provided at the region's main A&E in Dooradoyle.
