A public meeting will take place in Roscrea next week to discuss Tipperary County Council’s rent hikes.

The rent increases were due to come in at the start of July but, due to a failure in communication with many tenants, was delayed until the end of the month.

According to figures attained by a local Councillor Seamie Morris last week, 819 council tenants saw rent hikes of more than €30 per week, with some seeing an increase of up to €60.

Speaking on Tipp Today this morning, organiser of the meeting, Mike Edwards told Fran Curry the whole process was a disaster.

That meeting takes place in the Abbey Hall, Roscrea at 7:30pm on Monday.
