The Simon Communities say the government needs to triple spending on social housing, to €1 billion.
It’s one of a number of recommendations from the homeless charity, ahead of tomorrow’s Emergency Housing Summit.
The group says the extra spend would deliver 5,000 housing units within 16 months.
It’s calling for greater co-ordination among government departments and state agencies to tackle the housing crisis.
