Horse cruelty in South Tipperary highlighted.

There have been six reports so far this year of horses left to die in appalling conditions in South Tipperary.

Councillor Joe Leahy is spear heading the campaign to put an end to cruelty to horses and will highlight the issue at the next meeting of Clonmel Borough Council.

He is proposing that it be made mandatory for all horses to be micro chipped and licensed, in an effort to stop horses from being abandoned.

He is also urging people to report incidents of cruelty to either the Gardai or the TSPCA.
