A Clonmel soprano has won a top R.D.S. music bursary.
Kelley Lonergan was awarded the annual prize worth €10,000 this week.
It is one of the largest bursaries on offer to a young musician in this country.
The award is intended to assist a young professional musician to develop their career through further study at home or abroad.
The competition was open to winners of selected senior classes in the ESB Electric Ireland Feis Ceoil.
