Visitor ban lifted at South Tipp General

Strict visiting restrictions which have been in place at STGH for almost two weeks have been eased.

However, management at the Clonmel hospital are still asking the public to refrain from visiting unless absolutely necessary – due to continued monitoring of the spread of the flu virus.

Only one visitor per patient will be permitted during visiting hours, and people are asked not to bring children into the hospital.

The hospital says all infection control measures are in place and every effort is being made to manage and contain the spread of the flu.

They’re also reminding members of the public with flu-like symptoms to contact their GP by phone in the first instance and avoid presenting at the emergency department.
