Significant increase in trolley numbers

The number of people being cared for on trolleys at hospitals around the country has increased in the last 24 hours.

32 patients are without a bed at South Tipp General in Clonmel – an increase of 6 from yesterday.

University Hospital Limerick has 35 patients being cared for on corridors around the Emergency Department or in overflow areas of wards making it once again the most overcrowded in the country today.

Nationally there’s been an increase of 64 since yesterday to 476.
