The hospital, which serves North Tipp, has 72 patients waiting for a bed – 47 of those are around the Emergency Department, while 25 are in overflow areas of wards.

Tallaght hospital is the next busiest with 41 people on trolleys.

Meanwhile, the INMO’s trolley watch report shows 20 patients waiting for a bed at South Tipp General in Clonmel.

Across the country there are 493 patients on trolleys today.
