Overcrowding at UHL

People from North Tipp who are attending the Emergency Department at University Hospital Limerick can expect lengthy delays.

The Dooradoyle hospital is the most overcrowded in the country today.

According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation there are 34 patients without a bed there.

Meanwhile at South Tipp General the situation is slightly better – however there are still 20 people being treated on trolleys around the ED or in overflow areas of wards.

In all there are 344 patients waiting for a bed at hospitals across the country this afternoon.
