Nearly 20% of patients on trolleys are in hospitals serving Premier County

The two main hospitals serving Tipperary are the most overcrowded in the country today.

University Hospital Limerick is the worst affected facility according to the INMO.

The Dooradoyle health facility – which provides cover for North Tipp, Limerick and Clare – has 43 patients waiting for beds.

Another 34 people are being cared for on trolleys at South Tipp General in Clonmel.

In all 417 patients who have been admitted to hospitals across the country are without a bed.
