Major overcrowding at UHL

People from North Tipperary who are attending the Emergency Department at University Hospital Limerick can expect delays this afternoon.

According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation there are 40 patients without a bed at the Dooradoyle hospital.

19 of these are on trolleys around the ED while another 21 are in overflow areas of wards.

It’s the most overcrowded hospital in the country today.

At South Tipp General in Clonmel there are 10 patients without a bed.

In all there are 339 patients on trolleys and in overflow areas of wards today.
