Hospitals remain under strain

There are 534 people waiting for beds in hospitals around the country today.

University Hospital Limerick is the most overcrowded, with 52 people on trolleys while there are 35 patients without a bed in Clonmel.

It’s been a busy week for both hospitals serving Tipperary.

UHL – which provides Emergency Department Cover for North Tipp – has had to deal with 241 patients on trolleys since Monday.

At South Tipp General today is the busiest in a week which has seen nearly 140 without a bed.
